Welcome to

Welcome to the website of United Academic Adjuncts APEA/AFT (Alaska Public Employees Association / American Federation of Teachers).  This site is intended to provide information and assistance to the members of our organization.  Please feel free to browse and utilize what we have to offer here.

AFT is the leading organizer of part-time/adjunct faculty in the United States. AFT represents approximately 50,000 part-time/adjunct faculty, more than any other union. Some of these educators have organized with AFT in part-time/adjunct faculty only bargaining units; others are in joint full-time/part-time faculty units, and still others are in "wall-to-wall" units representing all higher education professionals in an institution or higher education system. Regardless of the local structure, the AFT is committed to promoting solidarity among all faculty and staff as a crucial part of improving conditions for part-time/adjunct  faculty.
